We see the emotional reaction of people to a single incident that occurred with a stray dog near one of the stores in Dnipro. We are sincerely sorry that this happened regardless of any other circumstances!
ATB works strictly within the framework of current legislation and sanitary standards, is responsible for the safety of customers, including people with allergies and parents with children. At the same time, we share a simple principle: in severe frosts, stray animals need a chance to warm up, and potential situations around this should be resolved exclusively humanely, with understanding and mutual respect.
We express our gratitude to caring people for their active position on the issue of animal protection. This is what makes society more humane in our difficult times and helps businesses change systematically.
As of today, we have taken the following measures:
We are conducting an official investigation into this isolated incident and additional training for staff on ethical communication.
We have initiated an immediate review of internal instructions for store employees to prevent any manifestations of unacceptable treatment of stray animals.
We are placing special stickers at the entrance to all ATB stores with the message: “If the temperature outside is below -5°C and you see an animal seeking warmth, notify the store administrator. We will help according to the protocol!”
We are updating internal protocols during extremely low temperatures so that stores have a single, simple algorithm of actions in case of such situations.
We have developed and agreed on a joint charity project and joint campaign with UAnimals (an organization that saves animals of all species from cruelty and war in Ukraine). We also support legislative initiatives by animal rights activists.
We have contacted other specialized organizations with whom we have been cooperating for many years to jointly develop a clear approach for the period of severe cold.
Also among the initiatives being considered are the arrangement of special warm places for temporary stay, cooperation with specialized shelters, information and educational projects, etc.
We are grateful to everyone who cares and helps us become better!
Our position is simple: rules are important and humanity is too!
