Since March 15, 2021, ATB-Market has launched a biodegradable eco-package made of corn starch for sale in all ATB stores in a test mode.

The new "ATB" eco-package is made of corn starch with the addition of polylactic acid and has the "OK COMPOST home" certificate. This means that the bag is completely biodegradable within 12 months when placed in the ground and does not harm the environment. The necessary conditions for the complete decomposition of this type of packaging are moisture, CO2 and biomass.

At the moment, a biodegradable bag of corn starch in "ATB" is presented in one size – 30x50 cm with a maximum load of 7 kg. Package price is 3.5 UAH. The term of use of this package is no more than 9 months.

Based on the results of testing this technology the company will make a decision on the complete transition of ATB stores to this type of packaging.

Recall that since April 2019, "ATB-Market" has completely switched to the implementation of "green packages" with a biodegradable additive in its composition. A special d2w ™ additive acts on the carbon compounds of the polymer, as a result of which after a certain period of time, they are destroyed, activating the decomposition of the polymer.

Also since February 2020, "Shopping boxes" have appeared in the ATB trade network. They are made of thick cardboard and are completely recyclable at the end of their use without harming the environment. These products are made from recycled materials and are eco-friendly packaging.

Simultaneously with the transition to biodegradable bags, "ATB-Market" offers its customers to purchase reusable eco-bags.
