ATB Training Centers

In 2017, ATB Training centers provided training to 7000 entry-level employees and 3000 managers

ATB Corporation has opened four training centers:

  • Dnipro TC was opened in February 2003
  • Kyiv TC was opened in May 2011
  • Lviv TC was opened in February 2017
  • Odesa TC was opened in June 2017

They provide training and enhanced training and development for district managers, store managers, deputy administrators, front store administrators, commodity experts, senior security guards, bakers.

The central training center is located in Dnipro city. It was started in February 2003 and had long been the only training facility for the employees of ATB stores throughout Ukraine.

With the expansion of ATB retail chain and a substantial increase in the number of stores, anothe training center was opened in Kyiv in May 2011.

In 2015 the company introduced a distance learning system (DLS), also called e-learning, offering opportunities to complete a course and to take intermediate tests distantly. Scheduled competency assessments and professional advancement tests for existing employees are also taken online.

Since 2015, a key priority for ATB retail chain has been expanding in Western and Southern Ukraine. To provide high-quality training of personnel in these regions, ATB opened new training centers.

TRAINEE SELECTION AND OPERATION PRINCIPLES

The training groups ATB training centers are formed of nominees enrolled from both internal and external talent pool, who passed all selection rounds. The curriculum includes lectures, seminars, and training on the topics varying according to the office that the applicant is running for. All the training centers trainers have prior experience in a retail store, so the courses are backed by plentiful hands-on case studies. TC-based training in theoretical knowledge alternate with the traineeship in ATB stores where experienced mentors provide their support and guidance. During their stay in training centers, the candidates pass the test papers and take final testing to prove that they had mastered the content.

In addition to sessions held as part of training for certain positions, trainers of training centers provide trainings for existing store managers, deputy managers, front store administrators and senior security guards annually  in order to improve their professional development and manager skills.
